Day of Mindfulness Meditation Practices
Saturday, November 7, 2009, 09:00 AM
Lory Student Center

Richard Brady is a practicing meditator and certified mindfulness teacher. In 2001 he was recognized by Thich Nhat Hanh as a teacher in his tradition with a special focus on cultivating mindfulness in young people. Since then Richard has worked with educators and students to integrate mindfulness into educational settings; he retired in 2007 after a 37-year career as a high school mathematics teacher to devote his full attention to this work.

He is a founder of the Mindfulness in Education Network, co-editor of Tuning In: Mindfulness in Teaching and Learning (2009) and author of a number of journal articles.

Join us on Saturday Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a "Day of Mindfulness Meditation Practices." This day includes sitting and walking meditation, a mindfulness talk and questions and answer session with Richard Brady, mindful eating, and discussion.

A concurrent children's program is being planned. Beginners and experienced meditators/mindfulness practioners are welcome.
